So I started using a fine mesh strainer and it's so much better
Also I mix it with brown rice sometimes for texture
And I add a splash of lemon juice after cooking
It makes it taste way better
Not sure if that's normal but it works for me
Also I buy it in bulk from the co-op
It's way cheaper than the fancy brands
